Afrokili expedition is company organized and were started by the group of guides who were working on Kilimanjaro as park rangers then became guides, we have been working as guides for almost 5years before we were interested in running our own company from gaining experience from the companies that we have been working with. As part of the improvement of our services we decided to organize our self and train in First Aid course as the first priority was the safety of our clients.
How we began
10 years in the making Afrokili was created through the combined experience and vision of over 20 dedicated Kilimanjaro and trekking specialists from senior guides to porters Before actually starting as company, we were working as park rangers on Kilimanjaro as national park team and had some porters working as cleaning crew then decided to have it guides after being trained for guiding and improving ourselves as qualified guides. Most of the Afrokili team have been working together since 2004 shaping the way we do business and that makes for a very dedicated and close nit team. It is that team is Afrokili Members start at the bottom and work up – after all if you have been a porter as a guide you can properly empathies with their position and earn their respect.

Our management team is also made up from head guides and trip leaders that have taken the initiative and shown interest in Management. Where ever possible we always try to hire from within and promote according to initiative and competence backed up by supplemental training.
All of the management team are also trip leaders as well as managers. As they are on the ground managing and also spend some time of the year leading trips their product knowledge is always up to date and first hand. We expect all of our management team and sales team to have been to all areas we cover or have participated in trips we run so that our clients always receive the most accurate information on a given topic.
